Time for a brain jogging discussion. The site has be dead.  BewareOfMyr!

Speaking of sleep (I did not want to hijack Herrellia's topic about sleep in Psychic Vampire room lol) but how many of you go through consistent "cycle shifts"
What I mean is do you always find yourself changing around the hours you sleep?

Here is an example of what I mean:
I tend to literally be in bed at dawn and awake at dusk. After awhile (about 3 weeks to a month) I will wind up staying up later and later in the day and be completely awake until I wind up finally getting tired and going to bed at noon and waking up at 9 or 10 at night.
THEN...I will stay up even later in the day and wind up waking up at 3 or 4am.
THEN I will eventually have a "normal" sleep pattern for 2 or three days and then by day four of this unintentional day shift I will wind up staying up all night and in bed at dawn (like normal for me).

Sometimes this will happen when I HAVE to be up in the morning, say some situation comes about where I have to stay up until the issue is fixed but other times it just happens. Now, at the times when something in my schedule that happens unexpectedly, I can SEE how a shift in sleep pattern would occur. However in cases where there is no change....

What causes it?

My only theory is its my body trying to flip me into a "normal for everyone else" sleep pattern. Also I know the human body ideally is supposed to be in bed at ten pm and awake at six am. Yet, for me I go through shifts.
I have had very strange sleep cycles in the past, like in bed at 1pm and up at 9pm. Or up at midnight or 1am and in bed at dusk.

Here is my point: For awhile I thought it was just me, but from talking to others on IRC I have come to notice that others who are some sort of Otherkin (remember, vamps are included in the Otherkin term) tend to have some sort of wacky sleep cycle NOT caused by a sudden shift in daily/nightly activities. And on normal occasion it tends to flip around. Either that or people make an effort to find a schedule and stick with it.

Your thoughts.

my theory on sleep is that people who have "weird"sleep cycles to me doesnt have a set schedule for sleeping. if a person gives in to there tiredness then the cycle is screwed up. sometimes it maybe a kind of chemical imbalance.

That could be. Most sleep therapists tell you to set a certain eight to ten hour period to sleep and to go to bed at that same time every night. Nit a minute later, right at the decided time. And if life happens to keep you up then go to bed as soon as you are able but wake up at the same time you normally do.

whats sad is that people dont get enugh sleep. life these days tends to  censored everyone up. too bad we cant run on our time. too bad  censored have to interfere with scheduals.... ablow
most people i know there bodys are starting to mess them up. once they could get home at 9 or 10 or so and stay up for a few more hours then wake up at 5 or 6 get ready for school and then take 3 busses to get there. now they go to bed a little sooner and they wake up late...

I too have issues with my sleep cycle. When its being good and doing its normal thing I fall asleep around 3:30am and wake up around noon (no alarm clock neccisary)
when it messes up (I just call it insomnia... but hey. thats just me) then I will either wake up every hour after I "go to sleep" or I wont be able to fall asleep period and will be wide awake for about 3 days straight (thats an average)
